Of all the things that make the original Jeep Grand Wagoneer memorable, the wood paneling running along its sides is perhaps the highlight. So, shortly after the luxurious SUV was revived, a company by the name of Wagonmaster set about developing wooden moldings for it in the vein of the original.

The paneling is available for both the standard Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer and extends across the front quarter panel, front and rear doors, and the rear quarter panel. It also includes a rear license plate surround.

Importantly, this isn’t actually real wood paneling. Instead, Wagonmaster uses vinyl that perfectly replicates the woodgrain of the moldings used by the original Grand Wagoneer.

Wagonmaster has years of experience in restoring and offering upgrades for the original Grand Wagoneer, making it the perfect company to add a bit of retro flair to the new model.

The complete kit will set back shoppers $1,899 and presumably, the vinyl panels can easily be installed at home. While we have yet to see a current Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer with these woodgrain moldings, Wagonmaster says it has shipped several kits to Jeep dealerships and individual owners across the country.

While we thought the standard Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer were impressive enough, Jeep unveiled long-wheelbase variants of both models back in April. We suspect that Wagonmaster will probably develop wooden moldings for these models too, although we think they are a little too luxurious and posh to really pull off the wooden look.
