Paintables Clouds features four different shapes that can be used as ceiling clouds, baffles or wall panels. Their unique shapes and sizes open the door for architects, designers and installers with creative solutions that are bold, yet architecturally pleasing.

Primacoustic has announced Paintables Clouds – a series of high performance acoustic panels you can paint – at InfoComm 2015.

The Paintables Clouds include the circular Cirrus, the hexagonal Hexus, the square Altos, and the rectangular Saturna.

Each panel is made from 1-1/2in thick high density 6lb glass wool for exceptionally even absorption and feature resin hardened edges with micromesh that together fully encapsulate the panel to prevent dusting. Paintables are factory painted on all sides in Absolute White latex and ready for mounting.  Unique to their design is a proprietary surface that enables the user to lightly spray paint the panels on-site to colour-match the decor without affecting the acoustical performance.

Installation is easy. For larger spaces, a selection of hanging hardware allows the Paintables Clouds to be suspended horizontally or vertically from the ceiling, absorbing energy on both sides for maximum efficiency. The same panels may be wall-mounted using proprietary Surface Impaler technology to create a distinctive wall treatment.

The Cirrus, Hexus and Altos are available in 36in and 48in diameters while the rectangular Saturna comes in a choice of 12in x 48in and 24in x 48in widths.  As with all Primacoustic panels, Paintables have been independently tested for acoustic performance and fire-tested to achieve the most stringent Class-A ratings. This makes them safe for use in all types of installations.

Primacoustic has also announced the Paintables versions of its London 8 and London 10 room kits. Designed to address acoustical concerns that are common to all rooms, London kits help control primary reflections, flutter echo and excessive bass. Panels are mounted using Impalers that eliminate the use of wall-damaging glue. The London room kits include all the necessary hardware including wall anchors, screws and even a drill bit, for a quick and easy installation.

Primacoustic has also announced a collection of hardware that will make hanging acoustic baffles and clouds a breeze. Products include the Corkscrew, the SlipNot, and the Helix.

Designed to create a vertical baffle using any type of Broadway or Paintable panel, the Corkscrew is a ‘spring shaped’ tensioned steel eye-screw that twists into the edge of the panel for placement overhead. Combining the Corkscrew with the SlipNot enables the panel to be quickly adjusted to achieve a uniform height

Designed to suspend Primacoustic clouds and baffles, the SlipNot is a unique suspension cable system that combines aircraft steel rope with a cam-style releasable hook for easy height adjustment at one end and a simple eye-sling at the other. One merely attaches the sling to a suspension point and clips the hook onto the Primacoustic cloud or baffle using either the Corkscrew or Helix panel mounting screws.

The Helix is a solid zinc die-cast device that integrates an eye hole and a screw that, when twisted into the panel, becomes a reliable and sturdy installation that transforms any Primacoustic panel into an acoustic cloud. The cloud is then hung overhead using the adjustable Primacoustic SlipNot suspension system.
